Synonyms: portobello, champignon mushroom
The button mushroom is the edible mushroom that is cultivated the most worldwide. Originally this mushroom was brown / creme coloured. Through mutation the button mushroom became white, this is an albino. The brown variant has a stronger taste than the white one.
The button mushroom is distributed throughout the temperate zones of the northern hemisphere. In Europe alone over 40 different strains have been discovered. The button mushroom lives in dung and during suitable weather conditions can be found from Mai to November especially on cow pastures and manure.
You receive ready colonised rye grain spawn for inoculation of convenient fruiting substrate. Larger quantities for commercial mushroom growing on request. Recommended only for experienced cultivators!
Production time: The culture is made fresh after ordering, production time 2 to 3 weeks.
This product is fresh produce and should be processed immediatly after delivery. If the product cannot be processed immediatley, it can be stored in the fridge at 4° Celsius for a maximum of two weeks.
