The lung mushroom is characterised by a wide range of varieties, it is very easy to cultivate and offers cultivators a rich resource for new strains.
The fruiting body reaches a diameter of 5 - 20 cm. The cap is grey-white to beige and pale lilac-greyish.
The flavour, shelf life and preparation in the kitchen are comparable to the oyster mushroom, although the lung mushroom fruits at warmer temperatures and is therefore ideal for cultivation during the warmer seasons.
This fresh product is prepared for you upon order. The production time is approximately 3-6 weeks.
The mushroom spawn should be processed immediately after delivery.
If the product cannot be processed immediately, it can be stored in the refrigerator at 4 °C for up to 2 weeks.
We recommend that you take this into account when placing your order and making your preparations.
Suitable cultivation methods:
straw bales, wood logs, mushroom patch, spawn bags indoor greenhouse
Suitable substrate: Straw, paper, coffee grounds, pulp from coffee beans, hardwood.
Suitable woods are maple, birch, beech, oak, alder, ash, aspen, poplar, elm or willow.
This breeding strain bears fruit several times in late summer to early autumn when grown outdoors.
You receive fully colonised grain spawn on organic raw materials for inoculating
fruiting substrates.
1 autoclave bag with approx. 3 litres of mushroom spawn is suitable for inoculating 5 - 15 substrate bags,
1 autoclave bag with approx. 6 litres of mushroom spawn is suitable for inoculating 10 - 30 substrate bags.
