The Reishi
Sopron Sopron strain originates from our own wild collection in Sopron (Western Hungary) This cultivation strain is ideally suited to the European climate and is excellent for outdoor cultivation. Unlike other strains, the Reishi-Sopron yields well even in low humidity. When grown as a ready-made culture, it is also perfect for producing antler-shaped fruiting bodies, knowns as the Antler form. Throughout the entire cycle, the filter bag is kept closed, nearly eliminating yield loss due to contaminations, although the harvest is slightly lower compared to cultivation in an open bag.
This mushroom is called Ling Zhi in China and Reishi in Japan. The german name "Glänzender Lackporling" (Shiny Ganoderma) refers to the appearance of this typical tree fungus. Traditions trace back approximately 4000 years of history of this fascinating mushroom! In East Asia, Reishi is traditionally a symbol of health, physical and mental recovery, longevity, high sexual activity, wisdom and wealth.
Reishi is rich in micronutrients such as iron, magnesium, calcium, zinc, copper, manganese and germanium. Particularly valuable are the polysaccharides and triterpenes contained in Reishi, such as ganoderic, ganolucidic and lucidemic acids.
Ganoderma lucidum is a saprobe (secondary decomposer) that mainly colonises hardwoods such as oaks, beeches, alders or birches. It prefers warm oak or mixed oak forests, as well as beech forests or hardwood floodplains. However, it can also thrive on hedges, in parks and alongside roadsides if the appropriate conditions are present
Spawn dowels are always made fresh on demand. Production time: 3 - 6 weeks.
This product is fresh produce and should be processed immediately after delivery.
If the product cannot be processed immediately, it can be stored in refrigeration at 4 ºC for a maximum of 2 weeks.
Please consider these timings when placing the orde.

You receive fully colonized spawn dowels for inoculating wood logs.
1 pack of 500 dowels is sufficient for 5 wood logs.
1 pack of 1.000 dowels is sufficient for 10 - 20 wood logs.
Inoculation with spawn dowels is traditionally used in mushroom gardens and recommended for beginners. Depending on the species, mushrooms can be harvested over several years - until the fungus has depleted all nutrients in the substrate. The fruiting bodies typically appear from the second year onwards and continue for 3 - 5 years, coinciding with the mushroom season. The expected harvest yield is approximately 10 % of the fresh woods weight, spread out over multiple harvests during the 3 - 5 period.
