Organic Himematsutake- Agaricus blazei Murill - Grain spawn
Synonyms: Royal Sun Agaricus, Kawariharatake, Cogmelo de Deus, Murrill's Agaricus (ABM), King Agaricus, Almond Portobello, Agaricus subrufescens (Peck), A. brasiliensis (Fr.)
The almond mushroom (Agaricus blazei Murrill) is originally native to the Brazilian rainforest. This special medicinal mushroom has long been known to the Brazilian natives as ‘Cogumelo do Sol’ (mushroom of the sun), ‘Cogumelo da Vida’ (mushroom of life) or ‘Cogumelo de Deus’ (mushroom of God), depending on the region.
The almond mushroom has a particularly balanced concentration of vitamins, valuable minerals, proteins and amino acids as well as a high proportion of polysaccharides. These rich components and its characteristic almond flavour characterise the Agaricus blazei Murrill as a high-quality edible and vital mushroom. Nutritional studies point to the wild form Agaricus subrufescens as a non-animal source of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), consisting of a combination of trans- and (much more) cis-isomers.
