Organic Reishi - China-Strain - Ganoderma lucidum -
Sawdust-Spawn
Synonyms: Ling Zhi, Mannentake, Saiwai-take, Jong Si/ryongji, Sarunouchitake
The Reishi China cultivation strain was primarily developed for cultivation on mycelium bags in the greenhouse. It is ideally suited for the production of antler-shaped fruiting bodies, known as the Antler Form. Throughout the entire cycle, the filter bag is kept closed. This almost eliminates yield loss due to contamination, although the harvest is slightly lower compared to cultivation in an open bag.
This mushroom is called Ling Zhi in China and Reishi in Japan. The german name "Glänzender Lackporling" (Shiny Ganoderma) refers to the appearance of this typical tree fungus. Traditions trace back approximately 4000 years of history of this fascinating mushroom! In East Asia, Reishi is traditionally a symbol of health, physical and mental recovery, longevity, high sexual activity, wisdom and wealth.
Reishi is rich in micronutrients such as iron, magnesium, calcium, zinc, copper, manganese and germanium. Particularly valuable are the polysaccharides and triterpenes contained in Reishi, such as ganoderic, ganolucidic and lucidemic acids.
Ganoderma lucidum is a saprobe (secondary decomposer) that mainly colonises hardwoods such as oaks, beeches, alders or birches. It prefers warm oak or mixed oak forests, as well as beech forests or hardwood floodplains. However, it can also thrive on hedges, in parks and alongside roadsides if the appropriate conditions are present.
This fresh product is prepared fresh for you to order. The production time is around 3 - 6 weeks.
The mushroom spawn should be processed immediately after delivery.
If the product cannot be used immediately, it can be stored in the refrigerator at 4 °C for up to 2 weeks.
We recommend that you plan for this when ordering and making your preparations.
Suitable cultivation methods:
wood logs
, mushroom patch, spawn bag for indoor greenhouse
Suitable substrate: hardwood
Suitable woods: birch, beech, oak and alder
Outdoors: this strain produces fruting bodies in late autumn
You receive fully colonised sawdust spawn based on organic raw materials (wood, rye bran from organic cultivation) in bags specifically suitable for sterilisation.
Information for cultivation on straw and substrate:
1 autoclave bag with app. 3 litres of mushroom spawn is suitable for inoculating 1 straw bale or 5 - 15 substrate bags
1 autoclave bag with app. 6 litres of mushroom spawn is suitable for inoculating 2 straw bales or 10 - 30 substrate bags.
Information for cultivation on wood:
When using our equipment (inoculation stick or hand inoculator) the sawdust spawn bags are suitable for:
1 autoclave bag with app. 3 litres of mushroom spawn is suitable for inoculating 12 - 15 linear metres of wood
1 autoclave bag with app. 6 litres of mushroom spawn is suitable for inoculating 25 - 30 linear metres of wood.
For quantities of 10 logs or more, inoculating with sawdust spawn ins usually more efficient than working with spawn dowels. The raw materials
Sawdust and wood chips are by-products and therefore more cost effective and sustainable than specially manufactured wooden dowels. As a result, sawdust spawn can also be produced cost-effectively in large quantities. Sawdust spawn is suitable for the drilling method and the cut inoculation method.
The expected yield is up to 10% of the fresh wood weight, divided into several harvest waves over a period of 3 - 5 years.
When utilising the drilling method we recommend using a mushroom drill and an inoculation stick or hand inoculator
Suitable for beginners.
Large quantities for commercial mushroom cultivation available upon request.
